Review: Can a Princess Be a Firefighter?

I received the this book, "Can a Princess Be a Firefighter?", via Tomoson for free in exchange for my honest review. I'm constantly seeking out new books for my six year old daughter's personal collection. Part of her daily homework as a kindergartner is to read 15 minutes daily. I took interest in the title and that is why I selected this book for her. 

This book is written by Carole P. Roman and illustrated by Marteya Arkova. It is a paperback book, written in rhyme and contains lovely illustrations. My daughter and I had a discussion about the title of this book before reading. Her response to the question, "Can a Princess Be a Firefighter?", was I can be anything I want to be. She was immediately drawn to the theme of this book because her school had recently had a career week. She has decided at six her passion is to become an artist. She was intrigued by this story of two daughters asking their dad simply, "Can a Princess Be a Firefighter?". I love the message of this book in that the dad explains to his girls that they can be whatever they chose as long as it makes them happy. His tells them should they desire to do something else then it is okay to make a change. Regardless where life takes them they will always be his princesses. Such a sweet story! This is an easy read and the rhyming throughout makes it great to keep young listener's attention.

I recommend this book to any little reader. There is a great moral to the store and it is easy for young ones to understand. This book would make a great gift or a wonderful addition to a personal collection.
